I’m new to this whole entrepreneur thing.  To be honest, I’m having a blast but wow, it’s a different world!  Starting and developing an event planning business is more than just planning events.  So much of my day is spent talking to people – clients, potential clients and vendors.

I’ve never really liked talking on my phone while driving.  For me, driving used to be about focusing,  reflection and concentration.

But since entering the world of business ownership, driving has now become a time of productivity and business development.  There is never enough time to recruit and pitch new ideas.  Making phone calls in between meetings or while waiting for a meeting has become standard.  I plan my phone calls in between meetings and try to accomplish as much as possible while in the car.

My newest discovery – earbuds – opened up a whole new world of business productivity on-the-go.  These are the many lessons I’ve learned about earbuds in the last few weeks.

First, you look kinda cool and important when wearing earbuds so even if I’m not using them I think I might just put them in so I look busy and cool.

Second, you have to be careful…don’t put on that seatbelt AFTER putting in your earbuds.  Oh no…it’s an order.  Seatbelt, phone, earbuds in the phone, earbuds in the ear…and try not to do it in a different order.  Trust me…

Third, ear wax.  Enough said.

Finally, there are a ton of different types of earbuds and you can get sideways trying them all to identify the right fit for you.  It’s obsessive!

Needless to say, entrepreneurship is fantastically fun, scary and I’m learning new things all the time!  And, if you see me driving with earbuds in, please don’t honk…just send some positive thoughts or a prayer.  I probably need it!
