What season is it?? Seriously…I don’t even know but I do know events and projects. And, everyone has a new idea or has a perspective about an event or project and they want to be heard and valued.
I like to work on events and projects that are different and unique (even though sometimes that makes them a little bit hard!) I love planning, preparing and organizing an event that begins with someone saying, “I have an idea and I really don’t think we can do it but let’s try…” I relish working with organizations and teams who want to think outside the box and get a little crazy!
Having said that…there is a time in the process for new ideas and then, sometimes, that time passes. There is only so much time and resources we all have to make magic happen and sometimes, that time to make a big, splashy change passes and we have to move that idea over to “next year.”
Volunteers, staff and other stakeholders can get very excited about new ideas. It’s not uncommon to hear things like, “You know what you should do…” Or “Have you ever thought of…?” Or “You’re the expert but…” There are times throughout the planning process when these statements bring excitement, glitter and energy. And then, there are times during the process when these statements bring frustration, anxiety and extra work. You’ve had a game plan and you can see the end goal and a new idea is introduced which may redirect your hard and increase resources.
I love new ideas…I love thinking bold, outside-the-box…and I absolutely thrive on executing these out-of-the-box ideas! I adore working with folks who want to grow and adjust in order to create experiences that are unforgettable and create lasting stories and memories . I have extensive experience working with long project timelines and short. Sometimes a big idea is worth reworking everything, and sometimes it is not.
Just like everything, there is a time in the process for new ideas and I want to work with you to capitalize on that so we can create exceptional experiences together.
