There are some simple questions to ask yourself as you embark on an event. It’s not really as easy as everyone thinks and yet, it’s not as hard either.
Nonetheless, like most things in life, planning and preparation are the keys.
Here are a few questions to ask as you decide to host an event:
Who?
Who is your audience? Who do you want to attend? Your audience, guests, participants or recipients will vary depending on the type of event and your goals for the event. Let’s identify WHO cares most about your mission and WHO needs to join you.
What?
What will your event be? Is it a free event or will you charge your audience? Outside or inside? There are a lot of what’s that need to be answered as you dive into the achieving your goals.
How?
How will you put on this event? And, really the question is how many resources do you want to dedicate to pull off the event? There are small events with big expectations which is just fine! And there are large events with very simple goals.
Why?
Why is this important to your organization? Why should your audience get excited for your event? This is probably the most fun question to answer as it should directly impact your mission or purpose as an organization.
